Not-So-Closeted Foodie

Every morning upon arriving to work with my triple grande latte (am I the only one that feels ridiculous saying Starbucks drink names out loud?) the first thing I ask myself is: "what's for lunch?"

I know, I know.

Why am I not looking at my e-mails, pondering about the great tasks of the day that will bring me one step closer to saving the world? How dare I think about lunch when there is still a half-eaten blueberry scone in front of me?

Well, there is something about me that you should know...I live by food.

I don't mean it in the sense that I gorge myself with Cheetos while sitting on my couch watching TLC (although we all have those days). I mean it in the sense that food is one of the things I am most passionate about. I love the taste, the science, the endless possibilities. You can have an incredibly boring day, but a meal can spice it up in minutes.

So here, in my first blog post, I confess, despite my best efforts to never use these words: I am a foodie.

And I welcome you to share your experiences, comment, agree, disagree, laugh, cry (please don't). Not only is this my platform to share my romance with anything culinary, but it is yours as well!

I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful experience (or friendship, if anyone ever reads this).
